Winston's Wish charity links up with bank

Winston's Wish, the Cheltenham-based charity for bereaved children in the UK, has announced a one year partnership with OneSavings Bank.

In a launch event staff members took part in a "Wear W Day" to celebrate the start of their work together. Two members of the OneSavings Bank team also joined the Team Winston runners for the Brighton Marathon last Sunday.

After months of dedicated training, Jennifer Williams and Russ Simpson took on the 26.2-mile challenge to raise money for the children's charity.

The partnership with Winston's Wish is the first time OneSavings Bank has nominated a national charity of the yYear and Winston's Wish says it is delighted to have been selected.

Robert Gurr, PR manager for OneSavings Bank said: "Our staff have wholeheartedly embraced the visions and values of Winston's Wish and as our nominated charity partners; we are looking to give as much support as possible over the coming year.

"The "Wear W Day" was extremely successful, as evidenced by the sheer ingenuity of some of our staff's outfits. I think we are going to have a lot of fun in the coming months as we raise money for such a worthy cause."

Elizabeth Tomala, corporate fundraiser at Winston's Wish, said: "We are so excited to become OneSavings Bank's first national charity of the year partner and are looking forward to all the amazing plans that we have for the year ahead."

Winston's Wish helps children and young people rebuild their lives after the death of their parent or sibling. Each year, Winston's Wish supports thousands of bereaved children and young people through an array of dedicated services, including a Freephone National Helpline which is available on 08088 020 021.
