Warning: Motorists facing lane closures

Motorists are being warned about maintenance work around Cheltenham's Arle Court and Benhall roundabouts that will begin next week.

Highways crews will be blasting away any build-up and blockages in drainage holes and gulley's on 27 and 28 June around Cheltenham's Arle Court and Benhall Roundabouts

A thorough jet clean will mean standing water can drain freely and doesn't collect on the road.

Lane closures will be in place from 9.30am to 3.30pm to avoid peak travel times.

Cabinet member for highways and flooding Cllr Vernon Smith said: "Even with this week's high temperatures and dry weather, we need to prepare for wet weather later in the year.

"Work like this helps to make sure our drains and gullies are clear to prevent surface flooding, and are an important part of our annual maintenance."
