Popular Cheltenham leisure attraction wins more support from clothing brand

Weird Fish has today confirmed its backing for the Sandford Parks Lido in Cheltenham for a second year running.

The Cheltenham-based clothing brand will provide staff uniforms to the leisure facility, comprising of dual branded polo shirts and sweatshirts in the traditional red and yellow lifesaving colours.

As part of its support, Weird Fish will be supporting the events programme, providing prizes for the Cheltenham Triathlon, Devil's Aquathon and a selection of 2k swims.

The Cheltenham Triathlon takes place on Sunday, September 10, consisting of 10 lengths in the Lido's 50-metre outdoor swimming pool, followed by a 2.5km run and then 13km cycle ride in the picturesque Cotswold hills.

Weird Fish is also sponsoring the Devil's Aquathon, a tough running and swimming challenge for competitors aged 19 and above, takes place on Sunday, October 8.

Dan Marsland, marketing manager at Weird Fish, said: "We're delighted to be supporting the uniforms for a second year running and look forward to sponsoring another fantastic programme of events for 2017.

"Whether it's a relaxed family day out or training for events, the Lido is a haven for thousands of people every year."

Sandford Parks Lido, operated by the charitable trust Sandford Lido Limited, is one of the largest outdoor swimming pools in the UK. The leisure facility is located in the landscaped gardens of Cheltenham.

Iain Barton from Sandford Parks Lido, said: "As a charitable, not-for-profit organisation we depend heavily on the support of local businesses and we wish to extend our thanks to Weird Fish for its continued support.

"The uniforms they provided us with last year were perfect for keeping staff warm and dry. We look forward to wearing the durable outfits they are providing us with this year.

"Our outdoor pool is being open for a full six months again this year following the record-breaking 2016 season and we have again employed a large lifeguard team.

"The uniforms provided by Weird Fish are an important distinguishing feature."
