Investment in people helps college strike gold
10th April 2017
South Gloucestershire and Stroud College has been recognised as one of the best organisations in the UK for the way it supports its employees.
It has been awarded the gold standard by Investors in People, a leading accreditation for business improvement through people management.
The award explores practices and outcomes within an organisation under three performance headings: leading, supporting and improving.
The performance model creates a roadmap for continuous improvement based on extensive research into the concepts of performance and change management and sets out the criteria for different levels of accreditation: bronze, silver and gold.
SGS principal Sara-Jane Watkins said: "I would like to congratulate all of those involved in our Investors in People assessment.
"I am delighted that the college received the gold accolade in recognition of the support and development the college gives its staff."
SGS College employs almost 1,000 people across three main campuses - Stroud, Filton and WISE - as well as centres in the heart of Bristol, at Bristol School of Art and Bristol Zoo and Gardens.
The college held a recruitment event for a new campus opening in Berkeley this September, which will create around 100 new jobs within the first year of opening.
