Have your say: where should houses be built?
2nd June 2017
Businesses and landowners are being invited to put forward suggestions for new sites that could be suitable for housing in the Forest of Dean.
Forest of Dean District Council said although housing plans contained in the new draft Allocations Plan were at an advanced stage, new sites that may be suitable for future plans were being sought.
The council is inviting people and organisations to suggest where land in the district could be used for housing, as it carries out its annual assessment of possible sites.
All sites suggested will be assessed to see if they are potentially suitable for development.
The council stressed that the assessment would not determine whether a site will be allocated for housing development in the future.
If you wish to put forward a site to be considered in this year's review, download a form from the council's website and search for Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA).
Alternatively, request a form by contacting Samm Jarman on 01594 812326 or email samm.jarman@fdean.gov.uk.
Forms must be returned by Friday, 7 July 2017.
If you have a site or sites that were considered in previous years, you do not need to do anything unless you wish to make changes to the site, or remove it from the study.
Any further sites put forward may be considered on a long-term basis and retained within the Council's records for the future.
All information supplied to the council will be publicly available.
