Forest holiday resort gets £3million boost

A family woodland resort has been re-launched after a major revamp of the site near Lydney.

Whitemead Forest Park has undergone a £3million redevelopment of the entire site, including accommodation, the bar and restaurant area, and communal facilities and venues.

Designs for the improved site placed an emphasis on creating the ultimate haven to relax and unwind, and the resort is now open to guests to enjoy.

Owned by membership organisation Boundless (formerly CSMA Club), Whitemead's redevelopment, has taken three years and helped create four new jobs.

Whitemead has 32 self-catering premier apartments and 12 log cabins. The park's camping and caravanning pitches have been resurfaced and roadways widened.

Mandy Thomas, general manager at Whitemead Forest Park, said all the staff were excited about the changes to the resort, and it was pleasing to be able to provide additional jobs, the Forester newspaper reported.
