Don’t be delayed: Road closures taking place
19th May 2017
Motorists have been warned to expect delays in Cheltenham due to road improvements
Work will be carried out in two phases to maintain access for residents of Prince Regent Avenue and minimise disruption as much as possible.
On 30 May to 1 June the southern end of Tommy Taylor's Lane near the Prince of Wales stadium, to the junction with Prince Regent Avenue will be resurfaced.
Vehicles will still be able to access the northern end of Tommy Taylor's Lane from the Swindon Lane direction, and vice versa.
On 2 - 8 June the team will move to the northern end of Tommy Taylor's Lane to resurface a larger section of road, from Prince Regent Avenue up to Swindon Road.
The county council is writing to inform residents about the closures, which will be in place from 7.30am to 5.30pm on weekdays only.
During the closure times a short diversion route will be signposted from St Pauls Road, left onto A46 Evesham Road and left onto Swindon Lane and vice versa.
Rob Vale, local highways manager at Gloucestershire County Council said: "This essential upgrade to the road surface at Tommy Taylor's Lane has been planned as part of our ongoing investment to keep our county moving. I would like to thank road users in advance for their patience and cooperation while our teams carry out the work."
