British fashion retailer’s sales soar before landing at the Quays
23rd March 2017
A major retailer making its way to Gloucester Quays has today reported an increase in profits.
Ted Baker, which opens at Gloucester Quays later this year, has said its pre-tax profits rose by 4.4 per cent to £61.3million. The positive results follow soaring online sales, global expansion and a promise from chief executive Ray Kelvin that shoppers will not be subjected to price hikes this year.
Mr Kelvin said: "We have continued to trade well and develop despite a backdrop of on-going external challenges across our global markets. This success reflects the strength and appeal of the brand as well as the outstanding quality of our collections."
Punchline thinks this is nothing but good news for those of us who are waiting for the British fashion retailer to join recent signings Levi's, Skechers, Original Penguin and Phase Eight plus a host of leading brands at the waterfront shopping, leisure and entertainment destination.
These include All Saints, Crew Clothing, Calvin Klein, Fat Face, Jaeger, Asics, The North Face and Clarks Outlet, plus the shopping outlet is anchored by Next, Gap, M&S Outlet and Nike.
