Be prepared: Road closure in place for a fortnight

Motorists have been warned to expect delays while a road in Gloucestershire is closed for more than two weeks.

Gloucestershire County Council has announced that the A419 in Eastington, near Stroud, requires resurfacing and will be shut from 10 to 26 April, between 7am and 5.30pm.

Almost the entire length of Spring Hill from the junction with Bath Road to just short of the roundabout at A419 will be resurfaced.

Work will start at the north end, near the A419 roundabout, and progress southwards toward Eastington Village.

The road will be reopened for the bank holidays and the weekends, except for Sunday, 23 April when the Eastington roundabout outside the village shop will be resurfaced.

Access for residents and businesses will be maintained as long as it is safe, while diversions will be signposted.

Motorists may need to allow extra time for their journeys, although only three days of the scheme will coincide with school term time (23 to 26 April).
