Assault and racist abuse reported at Jazz Festival

Gloucestershire Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival.

Last Saturday, at around 10pm near the Free Tent in Montpellier Gardens, a fight broke out that resulted in a woman reporting that she had been assaulted and racially abused and another woman reported being spat at.

A 47-year-old male from Cheltenham was arrested on suspicion of assault causing actual bodily harm and later released under investigation.

The police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who may have recorded footage on a mobile phone.

Anyone with information should call 101 quoting incident number 450 of 29 April 2017.
